Do you want ETERNAL LIFE?
Ps 90:2 Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.
Gen 1:1 In the beginning GOD...
Heb 11:6 (But without faith it is impossible to please Him) for he that cometh to God must believe that HE IS (and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.)
Q. Do you believe God exists?
God created us!
Gen 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them.
Q. Do you acknowledge that God created you?
God has a standard for us!
Mt 22:37 Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
Exodus 20:1-17 The 10 Commandments (which embody our duty to God and our neighbor).
Mt 5:48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
Q. Have you kept ALL of God's commands perfectly?
We all have failed God's standard!
- We've failed because Adam passed down his sin nature to us:
Rom 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.
Rom 5:19a For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners...
Man is intrinsically sinful... he sins because he is a sinner by nature...
- We've failed because we practice sin:
Rom 3:23 For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God.
I Jn 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
Man is also a sinner because he sins...
- We've failed because we can't do anything to help ourselves out of this situation:
Rom 7:18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.
Rom 5:6 While we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.
Q. Do you understand that ANY sin disqualifies you for heaven?
The standard is one of complete righteousness...
Q. Do you recognize there is NOTHING you can do to save yourself?
A penalty of death and eternal separation from God, spent in hell, is due for our sin!
Rom 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
Ez 18:20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die.
Rom 6:23a For the wages of sin is death...
Q. Have you ever sinned even ONCE?
That one sin alone (though there are most likely MANY) disqualifies you from heaven and makes the penalty of death for you fair.
BUT God so loved the world!
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son...
Rom 5:8 But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Q. Will you receive God's love today?
God sent His Son, Jesus, to pay that penalty for us, in our place!
2 Cor. 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
1 John 2:2 He Himself is the propitiation for our sins
Heb 9:28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many...
Q. Do you believe that Jesus died in your place for YOUR sins?
Q. Do you believe that Jesus paid the penalty due for YOUR sins?
Our sins are atoned for by the shed blood of Christ on the Cross.
Heb. 9:22 without the shedding of blood is no remission (forgiveness)
1 Peter 1:18-19 ...redeemed... with the precious blood of Christ, as of a Lamb without blemish and without spot.
Romans 5:9 ...being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.
Q. Do you believe that the shed blood of Jesus on the Cross of Calvary atoned for your sins?
We must trust what He has done for us!
John 3:16 Whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace ye are saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God...
Q. Will you trust Him for your salvation?
Q. Will you believe on Him and exercise the faith that He will give you to believe?
And believe that God raised Him from the dead!
Rom 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
1 Cor 15:1-4 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you... For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that:
- Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures
- and that He was buried
- and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures
Q. Do you believe Jesus was raised bodily from the dead?
We can have eternal life!
John 3:16 That whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
1 John 5:12a He that hath the Son hath life.
John 11:25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.
Rom 6:23b...the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Q. Will you receive the gift of eternal life?
Point: If you are trusting / believing on His finished work on the Cross...
- You have eternal life!
- You have passed out of death and into life!
- There is therefore now no condemnation for those IN CHRIST!
How to be "IN CHRIST"
Eph 1:13...
- after LISTENING to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation
- having also BELIEVED
- you were SEALED "IN HIM" (His signet ring; a sign of ownership)
- with the Holy Spirit of promise
Q. Is Jesus YOUR Saviour now?
Romans 10:"The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart" (that is the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
