We babysat our grandkids one night and out daughter brought us pizza for dinner, so that was a nice treat. Also, turning off the air conditioner and opening the windows on these nice fall days. We do not have t.v., so for our entertainment I checked out free movies from both our city library and our county library.

Contentment is something that I just don't struggle with. I have been content all of my life, even when we were first married and very poor. But I have watched my husband struggle with it over the years. He is growing in his relationship with Christ and I know that is making the difference.
Rachel Hnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5609957991100287914.post-53023630845148010742012-10-27T22:40:34.645-07:002012-10-27T22:40:34.645-07:00It is easy to struggle from time to time with cont...It is easy to struggle from time to time with contentment and it is good to remind ourselves of what is really important. I'm living on a budget that I never could imagine possible - less than an average disability/social security check. But I am thankful, and am working hard to spend little. Gas prices and rising prices in general make it challenging. I've decided to stay out of the stores for Christmas, and I'm purchasing just a few small gifts for my loved ones. Thankfully, I know they understand. Swagbucks is something I am using to help with that so I don't have to spend a lot out of pocket.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5609957991100287914.post-88024731164578016872012-10-26T17:46:12.949-07:002012-10-26T17:46:12.949-07:00Stovetop Popcorn is yummy popped in Coconut oil! ...Stovetop Popcorn is yummy popped in Coconut oil! I listen to Dave Ramsey on the radio almost every day to hear his inspiring counsel to those who are trying to control their finances. I haven't read his book, The Total Money Makeover, or taken his courses, but am trying to implement his philosophy for my watercolor business. www.daveramsey.com

Gary uses oxygen so we would probably qualify for a discount too. I really appreciate what you post... I stumbled upon your blog about a year ago and have read every single post from the very beginning. You are an inspiration to me on many levels and have inspired me to go ahead and get working on my price book, which I have put off for too long, as well as checking Craigslist and Freecycle for needed items before paying out money for them, and looking for ways I can save each day. Love those verses in Philipians...contentment is a trait that I have been working on during this long economic downturn, as well as thankfulness. Even though life is not as easy as it once was I can honestly say that I am more content and more thankful for things in my life now...and what a blessing that certainly is!Lynnnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5609957991100287914.post-46944394311808971262012-10-26T15:49:32.388-07:002012-10-26T15:49:32.388-07:00Sorry to read about your fall and trust you are on...Sorry to read about your fall and trust you are on the mend.

I am been thinking about trading clothes at Weight Watchers--maybe about having a clothes swap at our home. Since I am a lifetime member of Weight Watchers, I do not have to pay for the weeks I do not go to a meeting. So I am going less often now, but keeping with the program.

I am challenged to make a price book as you are doing. Makes sense.I also like shopping at those dollar stores now as you pointed out. Possibly I can make money with sewing when my carpel tunnel wrists heal more.

Hugs and prayers,
Carol Carol Noren Johnsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10103922738438801967noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5609957991100287914.post-27588309489259096082012-10-26T11:48:14.259-07:002012-10-26T11:48:14.259-07:00You did good this week, I am sorry about your fal...You did good this week, I am sorry about your fall and hope you are back good as new very soon.
Your utility bill reductions will be very appreciated. who knew? It also humidifies the air.
