The news we've been waiting for....
After a year and a half of waiting we finally received a notice in the mail today that Kevin's claim for permanent disability has been granted! We are praising our God for His mercy! We also want to thank those of you who have said you were praying for us. It's hard to believe this test of faith is finally over. God's grace has been amazing! God's provision for us during this time has been equally as amazing. Kevin has not worked since October of 2009 yet the Lord has provided a roof over our head and more food than we need along with clothing and so much more. I'm in awe and I want to bless the glorious name of Jesus Christ who has made peace between God and me!
"Stand up and bless the Lord your God

Praise the Lord! We are praying the same prayer for a friend of ours who has a serious brain disorder which affects all his movements. He is still working but his boss told him he needs to try to get disability. He tried before, unsuccessfully, but his symptoms are worse now. God is able.
@ata_grandma - I'm not sure how it works in your state but in California it's the 'norm' to get turned down twice and then go before a judge. We were told to get a lawyer and God provided a good one. They question a 'job expert' who tells the judge what you could do as work even with the disabilities. Our lawyer was able to challenge those recommendations. There is no way my husband could have done what the lawyer did. I hope your friend gets a lawyer. Also, they need LOTS of medical evidence so keep record of every doctor appt. It was also helpful to track how the disability limited his every day living. S.S. 'rates' you by how old you are (over 50 is best), how many years you've worked and your 'trainability'. Hope that helps. Overall.. God is the judge and we're praising Him!
